Noise Rejection On Balanced Line

Noise Rejection On Balanced Line

This is a rough schematic of signal transmission over a balanced line. The sender drives one conductor with signal and leaves the other connected to ground through an impedance equal to that of the driving amplifier. A differential amplifier at the receiving end produces the difference between the two conductors. During transmission there is noise on the line, but do to the impedance balance, the noise is induced equally in both conductors and the differential amplifier rejects it entirely while keeping the signal intact.
